TEAM DDUThis book argues that shape is a unique perceptual attribute, distinct from depth, motion, and color. Pizlo proposes a theory of how humans perceive 3D shapes veridically — even when viewed from different orientations. He explores the historical theories of shape perception, computational vision, and design principles for machines that “see” shape like humans. Appendixes include the mathematical and computational underpinnings for his theoretical model.
