This work is the translation of Al-Siyar al-Saghir, one of the six primary collections of the Zahir al-Riwaya in the Hanafi school. A systematization and codification of the international law of Islam in the second century of Hijrah, it brings out the work done in the earliest phase of the codification of Islamic law. Being perhaps the earliest extant work on the subject of international law in the history of mankind, this book represents the author's contribution to the subject, which paved the way for several other works. It epitomizes the genesis of Muslim international law.
